Benefit Cause

Catherine Sherer recently received a Fulbright grant to go to Ireland and get a masters in traditional Irish dance from the University of Limerick. Because the grant is not going to be enough money to cover tuition and living expenses, she is trying to find additional sources of funding. John Hebley, president of the Southwest Celtic Music Association, made a suggestion some time ago to have a musical benefit to help her cause. Catherine is very fortunate to have several talented and generous folks who are donating their time to make the benefit happen. In addition, since Chuck and Catherine will be leaving less than two weeks afterwards, she is hoping the benefit will also serve as a chance to say "good bye" and "thank you" to all the people who have been friends and supporters during her time in Dallas.

There will also be an ongoing raffle throughout the day. Some great items have been donated, and you don't have to be present to win. Items collected to date include: CD's, t-shirts, spirits, books, Irish pottery, handcrafted items, gift certificates, and a Southwest airline ticket to anywhere in the country!
